Although the current (and female) Ace of Clubs was created first, I almost always had it in the back of my mind that her dad was the original. I only sketched him out in thumbnails and layout pages of flashback stories until I drew this. He was a highly acrobatic, butt-kicking and wise-cracking hero who used his powerful sixth-sense to make himself look lucky and a pair of convertable fighting sticks to fight crime. He retired and started training his daughter who wanted to fight crime in his name. He's still around to give advice and is still not to be messed with. This picture is of him in his prime. |
