Print sale AND a new print
October 29th, 2017 by James Beaver
The DangerTerrorHorrorThon has started on ScrollBoss with a bunch of new pixel art, so be sure to stop in over there if you want to see what’s cracklin’. The Friday update was completely based on Alien vs. Predator, including a new pixel art print:
The sale started on Friday, but I forgot to post about it here.
All horror-related prints on the site are on sale! 8×10 and 8 1/2 x 11 prints are $5.00 each and 17 x 11/14 x 11 prints $8.00 each! It was supposed to run until October 31st, but I’ll let it run two extra days since I forgot to post about it here until today. So you’ve got until November 2nd to get in on the action! Which ones are horror prints? Well, if you give me a good reason for any print to be a horror print in the order email, you’ll get it for the sale price!
Catching my breath here
July 12th, 2017 by James Beaver
The convention is over (thanks to everyone who stopped by the table on Saturday!) and, as the title says, I’m catching my breath while getting other things together. This isn’t an update, but there’s some important info in here.
The recent pics of Miles Morales, Wonder Woman and Zoom have been added to the Prints Page.
The Princess Peach pic will be added once I get a test copy from the company that I use for mail order prints.
My ScrollBoss game site will turn 17 years old next Wednesday, which used to be the old day of the week that I’d haul a bunch of files on floppies up to the library and upload them to Tripod or Angelfire. I’ve already been cooking up sprites for that anniversary update, so stop by that site next week to check out the celebration!
Finally, today is the day of action for Net Neutrality. In basic terms, Net Neutrality means, “Hey, don’t @#$% with and/or up the internet.” It prevents Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from slowing down or shutting off access to websites. It prevents cable companies from slowing down access to sites who don’t pay them a toll for access. Imagine that your cable company decided, was pressured, or was paid to slow down or prevent access to a website for whatever reason. The survival of independent sites like this, and others FAR more important, depend on a free and open internet. Unfortunately, Net Neutrality is in jeopardy because the new head of the FCC seeks to get rid of those protections. Check out these links to learn more about it and see how you can help fight the good fight: Fight for the Future Save the Internet
Endless Duck is now in full color and ready to menace the world at large. That pic will get a flashier background if people want a print, but this will likely be Endless Duck’s merch art in the very near future.
The time when I work on new line art for the All AmeriCon convention is done and it’s time for me to get ready for the 17th anniversary of the ScrollBoss site. I don’t have a lot done in advance, mainly because I’ve spent most of the year working on commissions, but I’ll still try to cook up something nice.
I’ll be at the All Americon convention in Youngstown, Ohio, but only on Saturday, July 8th. All AmeriCon is a two-day event this year, but circumstances (and day-job work) means that I can only make it there on Saturday.
Also, thanks to a lot of crap luck, bad timing and Firefox (probably add-ons or plug-ins) helping to mess up my print orders, I won’t have a lot of the new 2017 pics or the Black Panther 2016 pic (which had to be restocked from scratch, too). The new Miles, Wonder Woman and Zoom pics will be available to order from the prints page of this sitevery soon, and Princess Peach (one I order a test print from the company I use for mail order prints) will be added a bit later.
Who’s Zoomin’ Who?

Another week, another picture? Yup. It’s Zoom, from the live-action Flash TV show’s second season. Fitting that I had to put some marathon hours into finishing this pic to make sure I had it ready for the All-Americon convention, July 8th. You know, because he runs fast and a mara – you know what, forget it. The point is that it’s done and he looks sinister. Also, I really need to draw more villains, and definitely have some on my “to-draw” list.
Reminder: I’ll be at the All Americon convention in Youngstown, Ohio, but only on Saturday, July 8th. The convention is for two days this year, but I’ll only be able to be in Artist’s Alley there on Saturday. Stop by if you’re able to make it there!
I’m still shocked my He-Man vs. Skeletor pixel art print (posted on their Instagram account) was at the official Mattel show at Gallery 1988, and even more shocked that people seem to be digging it. I’m humbled that it’s in there with so much amazing artwork and I hope this isn’t the last time I get to do something like that. The truth is that I planned to do two pics, the second would’ve had more obscure characters, including the blue, silver and orange Astro Knight from the old Adventure People line. I had that figure and always thought it looked cool. I’ve actually come up with a better idea for him and will draw it if I’m lucky enough to do something for another Mattel show.
