Nutroll: Secret of the Illness!

Booyay! You've found the secret Illness page! That or some dirty snitch gave you a link to it. Either way, anyone interested (or bored) enough to check it out deserves some props and random tidbits.

The screen panels - I'm pretty sure that people think that the screen panels are all a bunch of random crap. Well, some of them are random and some of them are drawn like crap. But they're more than meets the eye. They're story hints in disguise! Here's an breakdown of all the 'screen panels including the random variants and the date that they were added.

Panel 2 v.1 (April 1, 2007) - The old plan was to show the inside of where he was from his point of view and 'lookin' at the front door' of the room. Then I thought it'd make more sense if you could see part of Nutroll so you know he was in there. In a trippy moment, I imagined a picture that's in the Nutroll art gallery through his eyes and drew something close to that. This is also where the news crawl at the bottom of the screen is Nutroll's commentary. No variant here.
Panel 3 v.1 (April 1, 2007) - This panel has a double meaning. For one, it's almost what he was doing at the time that the video started: he was resting. I'm hoping that even from the blurry picture on the screen that you can still figure out what he's watching because of what he's thinking at the bottom of the screen. This was the original version of the panel.
Panel 3 v.2 (April 1, 2007) - I think I blurred my fan art too much for this screen. The only way you can figure out what it is (kinda) is from the bottom screen text. I may redo this one.
Panel 4 v.1 (April 1, 2007) - At this point, Nutroll's 'rest' becomes troubled and starts thinking of gaming references. The original plan was to have a lot of multiple panels from the get-go and have this be a rare variant that pops up and leads to a secret page like this. I ran out of time and only had this one finished when the comic debuted.
Panel 4 v.2 (April 1, 2007) - Not long after the comic was open to everybody, I was able to finish this tribute to Technos' River City Ransom video game. If you're trying to figure out who he's fighting there, check out the old Nutroll preview that can be found in the comics section. In a weird way, this panel ties to some past character development that shows up in a later story. Seriously.
Panel 4 v.3 (April 13, 2007) - This was to be the third version of the panel on the debut, but I was unhappy with the first try at the Akuma/Gouki win pose from Capcom's Street Fighter series. I finally got to redraw and color it weeks later. I'm pretty sure SF fans know what the guard is a parody of since he's in the old SFII K.O. pose. The background is a redesign of the hallways seen in the old preview. I made that in-game font from scratch and may eventually finish it to a full set.
Panel 5 v.1 (April 1, 2007) - This is where things get weird. I'm going to keep silent on this panel here. I'll mention that if you look at the LOZ version of panel 4 really closely, you'll see a very faint copy the woman here.
Panel 6 v.1 (April 1, 2007) - Not much I can say here without spoiling stuff. I'm irritated that the swirling copies of her cover up the face where you can tell that's kinda hurtin'. This going to be someone totally different, but was changed to fit the story and setting better. One thing that you can't see is that her left hand is grabbing some on her neck.

May as well throw in a bigger version of a picture that's on one of the monitors behind the newscasters:

I wanted to fully color it and fix it up, but time was too tight to do that. Besides, you can't even see it now. I didn't have full idea of how the channels' overlay graphics would look, but that's a prototype. I have NO idea who those two people are. The guy's head is still lopsided because I knew it was going to be shrunken down to almost nothing. Even worse, I messed up and put "Gloria Gaines" instead of "Sylvia Gaines" on the news crawl. ARGH!
There'll be more added to this page as I come up with it.
