 This was a quick picture drawn to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The pose is based on his jumping sprite from the first Super Mario Bros. game. Despite looking at lots of different Mario reference pics when I drew this (except for the Japanese SMB cover art that turns out to be nearly the same exact pose), I really didn't think it was Mario-y enough to show. I made a few modifications days later and it now looks decent enough to show even if I'm not even 90% happy with it. |
