One of my favorite things about hitting the conventions is meeting all the cool, creative and inspirational independant comic people there. I buy more of their stuff than the mainsteam comics when I go. Joanne Ellen Mutch is a creator that I met on my first con trip and always someone that I try to find everytime I go. Her book Rummblestrips is about a woman nicknamed Rummble and her alien friend Crash. No, Crash is NOT a robot, but a metallic being. If you make the mistake of calling her a robot, well, she'll make sure that you remember not to do that again.
So this pic is like a goofy team-up pic with Crash and Nutroll hanging out. For those kids out there too young to remember life before cable, the thing that Nutroll's holding behind Crash's head is a 'Rabbit Ears" antenna used with old-school televisions. The rest of the joke kinda explains itself, except for the beating that Crash gave Nutroll after she figured out he was doing that :) |
