Aquaman and Flapjack (D.C. Comics) - 2009
Artwork by James Beaver

This is one of those pictures I've had in my head for a few months. In the great new Batman: the Brave and the Bold cartoon, Aquaman is indescribably awesome that they had to get John "Bender" DiMaggio to voice him. Watch any episode of the show where Aquaman speaks and you'll understand. The lil' kid on his mighty shoulder is Flapjack from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, another great cartoon currently airing on TV. Flapjack is a kind-hearted sea-faring kid who craves adventure. For some reason, I could just see the B&B version of Aquaman and Flapjack crossing over for their favorite thing in the world: ADVENTURE!

This was my first time drawing anything in either style so things look a bit off. I still have a hard time loosening up when working in styles like this.
Alternate Versions:
Earlier color version with lighter background and hair on the side of Flapjack's head. Pencils
