Batterram (Batterram) - 2008
Artwork by James Beaver

This is a shot of Batterram (or Batter Ram), one of the early heroes I created as a kid. He was originally named Big Red until I realized that I couldn't call him that because of the gum. I hated having to come up with a new name until I was listening to the late Robin Harris' comedy CD where he talked about somebody hopping on a Batter Ram. Not only does it fit his strength level but it worked for the BR that I was used to drawing on the front of his chest. Besides being the muscle of the team, he can become a human battering ram when he reaches a certain running speed which triggers a nearly indestructable force field around his body. This pose is how he runs before crossing his forearms in front of his head to crash through some unfortunate person, place or thing. My only problem with the pic is that I wanted to make him look slighty mischievous but he just looks a bit evil here.
